Author Biographies :: Shira Golding

Shira Golding is co-founder Share Tompkins, which helps people share and trade goods and services in Ithaca and Tompkins County, New York. The volunteer-run group was formed through an open community meeting on May 7, 2009. It maintains a Tompkins County resources guide, and has formed working groups to plan regular Community Swap Meets and Really Really Free Markets and to work on this website. In 2009, Share Tompkins was the recipient of a Sustainable Tompkins Mini-Grant that enabled us to reach more people and develop deeper community partnerships.

We've been working on ways to better share resources in Tompkins County, NY. A few months ago we started organizing Community Swap Meets where people can give away, share or barter goods, services and labor with a focus on being as local and sustainable as possible.
